5 GCSEs at C or above, including Art

Course Content

You will develop your own work and also be inspired by the study of artists of your choice. As you develop your skills, you will be invited to tackle a wide range of experimental work which could include:

• Large scale paintings
• Drawings
• Mixed media pieces
• Sketchbook work

In the second year you will undertake a large personal study based on an artist or group of artists, and develop practical painting work.

The final timed exam will build a series of artistic investigations around a central theme and your success will be celebrated in the end of year show!

Where will my course lead?

Students can go onto further study such as the NEW Art Foundation course we are introducing and/or the wide range of specialist art courses offered within Higher Education. There are a diverse range of careers within the art world.
