Course Content

Geology can explain how Ludlow was once a warm, shallow sea teeming with animals most of which are now extinct. We explore many fascinating themes such as: What’s inside the earth? Why do volcanoes exist? What happened to the dinosaurs? What happens when continents collide?

We pursue fieldwork as often as possible to see the rocks in their natural environments. Geology gives you the chance to appreciate how the landscape and rock exposures around you tell a story of dramatic change and change over time.

Where will my course lead?

Geology students have gone on to study a wide range of subjects offered at Higher Education and many have chosen to specialise in Geology. Geology graduates are employed in many areas ranging from environmental management to the oil industry and mining.
