5 GCSEs at Grade C (1 of which must be a grade C or above in English)

Course Content

Media Studies will teach you how to research and analyse a range of texts from advertising, marketing, television, the cinema and press. You will be introduced to key concepts and skills surrounding the media, including representation, genre and textual analysis. Students produce media texts such as magazines and short films.

Where will my course lead?

You may progress to a Higher Education Degree in Media or Film. It can lead to various careers such as journalism, marketing, events management, script writing and media/radio production.

This subject can be combined with many other courses, for example Business Studies, English, Sociology or Psychology.
