Entry Requirements

Applicants should have achieved a good standard of general education. It is a requirement that you achieve the Professional Chefs Diploma Level 1 qualification prior to commencing this programme. Admission to the course is subject to satisfactory performance at interview.

Course Content

The course is designed to introduce trainees to the preparation and cooking of food to a professional standard with practical sessions, which will prepare the way for a career in the catering industry, supported by lectures and tutorials.

Where will my course lead?

The course lasts for 1 year full-time minimum. Depending on when you leave will depend on the level of achievement:

  • Level 1 Chef/General Assistant
  • Level 2 Chef/Cook
  • Level 3 Trainee Kitchen Supervisor

You will acquire the skills and qualifications to apply for a range of jobs within the catering industry such as aboard ships or for international hotel groups.
