Theresa Houghton - Director of Operations

Theresa Houghton, Director of Operations, joined Ludlow College in 2001. She initially qualified as a nurse and then returned to University to study History.  She gained considerable experience in Nursing and Health Care Management. She has taught both History and Health Care Management in Further Education and Higher Education. She is a published author having written education materials for Network Publishing and Cable Education.

She established the Training and Development Centre at Ludlow College which has been recognised nationally as Centre for Vocational Excellence in Health and Social Care and it gained the Training Quality Standard for Health and Social Care and Early Years in 2010.


Carl Morris - Management Team

Carl Morris is the Programme Area Manager for: Science, Maths, Health and Sport and he has cross college responsibilities for Tutorials and Student Support. He joined Ludlow College initially as a student in 1993 before completing a Sports Science degree at Staffordshire University and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education at Worcester University.

He joined Ludlow College as a Physical Education and Sports Science teacher in 2001 before moving into a management and pastoral role.  As a sportsman he has played and coached football at a semi professional level, as well as working for the Football Association as a coach educator.


Neil Church - Management Team

Neil Church, Programme Area Manager for: the Arts, Humanities and Teaching and Learning joined Ludlow College in 1996. He studied English, Writing and Drama at St Catherine's College Oxford, the University of East Anglia and the University of Nottingham.

Neil has taught English at Ludlow College for many years before moving into Drama and Management roles. He continues to persue professional writing projects and plays guitar for a local band 2CV.


Duncan Wright - Finance Manager

Duncan Wright is our Finance Manager and joined the College in January 2012. After graduating from the University of Hull with a BSc (Hons) in Accounting and Financial Management in 2004, he started work as a junior accountant at Newmor Group Ltd, in the manufacturing industry, before working his way up to Company Accountant.  During this time he studied for the CIMA qualification and became Chartered in 2009.


In 2009 Duncan moved to Trax JH Ltd as a Finance Controller before moving to Ludlow College. Away from the College he is a keen sportsman and is heavily involved in cricket in Shropshire.  He is also a keen supporter of Wrexham Football Club.
