High Maths Scores for Ludlow College Students

Students at Ludlow College have once again achieved an exceptionally high pass rate in their A Level results this year. Staff and parents gathered with many students who were celebrating successful results and securing their chosen places at numerous universities across the country. The College is delighted to announce a 98.5% A Level pass rate in all subjects. This year’s results featured particularly high grades in Maths and Further Maths with the majority of the highest grades being achieved by female students, bucking the national trend of Mathematics nationally. Students even acted out some of the functions for trigonometry in celebration!

Carl Morris, Head of Ludlow College commented, “We are thrilled that our students are celebrating such outstanding successes in their A Level results this year.  When our pass rate is combined with our 100% retention rate, this is likely to place us in the top ten of colleges nationally for achievement at A Level. Our 2% increase in A* to B grades continues to reflect the exceptional work of both our students and staff.  We have had a lot to celebrate over the past year with 41% of students succeeding in gaining places at elite Russell Group universities compared with the average of 35% and 99% of students making  progress after College, with 62% continuing with their education, 10% employed as apprentices and 27% entering other employment. I am looking forward to seeing how this year’s students progress in their chosen futures.”

Amongst some of the highest grades was Sally Lancaster’s results who having achieved an A* in Chemistry, A* in Physics, A in Further Maths, A*Maths and an A* in the Extended Project qualification, is now progressing to Wolverhampton University to study Aerospace Engineering. Sally commented, “I’m really pleased with my results and I’m looking forward to studying at university. I really enjoy Maths and learning how things work so I was very definite about my choice of subject. I am looking forward to being at the forefront of the latest technology and I think being a female engineer is a good option in the modern world.”

Ludlow College prides itself on offering all students the opportunity to reach their full potential and has a comprehensive set of systems in place which are designed to guide and support each individual, happily and successfully, on every part of their journey.
