We welcome feedback from our students to shape their future learning and also develop the College environment. Students can provide their views via an annual questionnaire and focus groups.
If you are keen to represent your fellow students and help to make their time at college more memorable, then this is a great opportunity for you. Students can elect or become a Student Representative, which could lead to you being a Student Governor, who is part of the College Board of Governors. The role of Student Governor is to listen to the views of their peers and then present these views back to the College's senior managers.
Once the student council has been formed, you decide what you want to achieve and you decide how you are going to do it. It may be that you want to be part of a national campaign with the NUS or you might want to arrange an event for the local community.
Whatever you decide, at the end of the year you will be able to demonstrate a wide range of skills from communication and teamworking to organisational and leadership skills. The development of your organisational and leadership skills is a great addition to any personal statement or CV as well as bringing about positive changes for your peers.
