Level 3 Extended Diplomas are the equivalent to three A Levels. So students can still go to university on the path that suits them best.
Beth chose to study a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health & Social Care and after achieving two Distinction Star grades and one Distinction, she is now progressing to Bangor University to study Midwifery.
“I have always wanted to be a midwife which is why I chose this course; it is such a rewarding job. I actually come from a farming background which has in some ways helped! I am used to shift work and stressful situations; I have learnt how to manage challenges well. I really enjoyed the course, it was great and the teachers were really good. It was all interesting, including varied subjects such as biology and legislation. I completed three work placements during the course; in a care home, nursery and a school for people with disabilities.”
