This course provides the knowledge, understanding and skills for young people who want to progress to university or are looking for a career as a business decision maker. It is a practical course which will help you to add value to business activities in any organisation.
Course Content
It is designed for students interested in a career in business either straight from college or via further study at university. You will develop practical skills and theoretical understanding of the world of business, whilst having a chance to explore career opportunities within this vast world. You will study finance, marketing, recruitment, event management, retail environments, customer care, international business and human resources, among other topics. Many students have experience in a workplace and this can really help by applying real life context to theories and examples.
You will develop your knowledge and understanding of business and corporate social responsibility in the business world as well as your group work, IT and presentation skills.
Entry Requirements
A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4 (grade C) or above including Maths and English; or a Merit in the BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Business and a grade 4 (grade C) or above in Maths and English.
Where will my course lead?
This course is all about preparing you for entry to university or employment. You may progress to study for a degree in any business-related qualification, such as Accounts, Business, Marketing or Human Resource Management. On average, to enter university you will need to achieve a Merit or Distinction grade profile on completion of this course. Alternatively, you could enter the world of business. Future careers include accounting, banking, insurance, human resources, marketing and sales. In addition, we will help prepare you for starting your own business or perhaps an e-business.
