Football Academy
Ludlow Sixth Form College have had a strong partnership with Shrewsbury Town Football Club for a number of years now, working with the Shrewsbury Town Foundation (STF) to provide high level coaching and work experience opportunities.
September 2023 marks the launch of our full Football Academy developed in partnership with the STF to run in conjunction with our course in Level 3 Sport.
Those who join us at the Academy will receive coaching from FA-qualified coaches provided by our STF partners. The programme includes:
- 3 x 2 hour coached training sessions per week, made up of football sessions, strength & conditioning as well as performance analysis
- Wednesday afternoon matches in the CEFA (Community & Education Football Alliance) League alongside other Academy sides such as Manchester City, Aston Villa and Derby County, to name a few
- Bespoke package, including training and match day kit
- Opportunities for residential trips away during your time with the Academy.
Using your links with Shrewsbury Town FC, there's a great opportunity to gain valuable work experience into the operations of a football club as well as community football engagement.
How to join the Ludlow Sixth Form College Football Academy
To become involved with the Football Academy, you must be enrolled on a full-time programme with Ludlow College, with attendance being a mandatory condition for continuing with the academy. This will most likely be the Level 3 NCFE Sport qualification.
