Celebrity chefs Will Holland & Chris Bradley at launch of Mortimer’s Restaurant
Ludlow celebrity chef Will Holland of La Becasse and Chris Bradley from Michelin starred restaurant Mr Underhill’s were the special VIPs at the launch of Mortimer’s Restaurant at Ludlow College on Thursday 8 November. Chris Bradley cut the ribbon whilst Governor Martin Taylor-Smith, who helped secure the funding, gave the formal welcome.
First and second year Hospitality students displayed their culinary skills to representatives from the local and regional food and hospitality industry. The restaurant project, which was part funded by money from the Market Towns Revitalisation Fund, will provide unique work experience for students as well as being open to the general public at lunchtimes on the 29 November; 13 December and 20 December. Dates for 2013 are available by calling 01584 872846.
Ludlow College Principal, Jonathan Davis said, “We are extremely pleased to announce the opening of Mortimer’s Restaurant which is the culmination of a lot of hard work and effort to create a professional working restaurant and kitchen for hospitality students at Ludlow College. This is a major new resource for the town giving young people a fantastic opportunity to qualify for roles in the hospitality and catering industries anywhere in the world. We hope that one day we have helped to produce one of our very own Michelin starred chefs.”
